This month the New York City Police Department will join us for a special presentation about crime prevention, crime reporting, and safety for gay Asians. Presenters will discuss the Department’s policy of confidentiality that bars officers from inquiring about a person’s immigration status when she is a victim or a witness to a crime, how to report anti-gay harassment, and will answer other questions.
Speakers from the NYPD’s Community Affairs, GLBT, and New Immigrant Outreach Programs:
– Sergeant Tracey Servello, Chief of Community Affairs
– Detective Thomas Verni, Citywide GLBT Community Liaison
– Lieutenant Albert Chan, New Immigrant Community Liaison
