UNSPOKEN: Queer & Trans Asian American Coming Out Stories
film screening + community discussion
Join us on Friday, June 21st, for a special preview screening of UNSPOKEN, a short documentary that follows six queer & trans Asian Americans as they grapple with their queerness and consider what family acceptance might look like.
After the screening, we’ll host a roundtable discussion with the six original interviewees from the film. The interviewees will reflect on how their own journeys around navigating queerness in the context of Asian immigrant families has evolved since we filmed everything two years ago.
FREE dinner will be catered by The Militant Manatee, a queer Taiwanese American food vendor who nourishes our bodies and fuels our movements with Taiwanese comfort food. There will be vegan, gluten-free, and meat-based options.
