API PFLAG of New York is excited to host a workshop that creates a safe space to have conversations and the opportunity to share resources regarding the issue of coming out in an Asian American family. There will be large group panel discussions and small group activities aimed to provide participants with exposure to the coming out process from members with past experiences, and also to hear the parents’ perspective.
Sunday, Jan 31, 2016, 12pm – 3pm
Email Clara Yoon at [email protected] if:
- You know someone from the Queer API community who might be interested in facilitating the workshop and get trained by Clara of API PFLAG. The ideal facilitator should have a bit of public speaking experience, has gone through the struggle of coming out, and willing to spend about 8 hours (3 hours of content development, 3 hours of test run/practice, 2 hours of planning & post-event meeting) in the month of December 2015 and January 2016.
- You know parents who would like to get in touch with API PFLAG members.
